湘中涟源是湖湘文化与梅山文化的交汇地,这两种文化相互影响,不断融合,形成独具特色的涟源乡土文化。王鲁湘先生曾将其概括为湖梅文化。莫美的《墨雨》是描写湘中地域文化的《清明上河图》,展示出了湖梅文化中血性之美、神秘之美、和合之美、情义之美的无穷魅力。

Lianyuan in center of Hunan is the intersection of Huxiang culture and Meishan culture. These two cultures influence each other and continuously integrate,forming a unique local culture of Lianyuan. Mr. Wang Luxiang summarized it as Hu-Mei culture. Mo Mei＇s the Ink Rain is a depiction of the regional culture of central Hunan province,just like the ＂ Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival＂,which shows the beauty of courage and uprightness,the beauty of mystery,the beauty of harmony,and the beauty of love of Hu-Mei culture.
