Objective Toexamine the relationship between drivers' self-assessment driving skills and their crash likelihood and the real accident. Methods 123 drivers completedself-assessed hazard perception skills scale and crash likelihood scale. Results Significant age, gender and driving experience differences were found on self-assess driving skill and crash likelihood. And the scores of drivers ' hazard perception skills, crash likelihood and real accidents werecorrelated with each other positively. Conclusion Theassessment of drivers' driving skills and crash likelihood is influenced by the demographic factors. And the better drivers assessed their driving skills, the higher their crash likelihood and the rate of real accidents.
