This paper starts with the reasons that made red bricks popular in Quanzhou. Quanzhou is investigated through field visit and relevant information collection. It elaborates the demand of the old city reconstruction in Quanzhou and the continuation of its features, the reasons for the continuation of red brick in contemporary architecture and the application in the renewal of old urban. It provides referable strategies for the inheritance and innovation of the red brick building in Quanzhou.
