The nature of the Taiwan Question is a matter of China's internal affairs. The reason why it is so thorny is because there is complicated international context and external factors involved. Of them, Japan is second only to the United States. Japan has always had a special complex and imagination for Taiwan because of history and geography. Compared with the United States factor, the Japanese factor exists in its unique form in the Taiwan Question. It goes deep into Taiwan's political, economic, social and other fields in different spatio temporal contexts. Its existence, role and impact are constantly evolving. Since the 21st century, with the rapid rise of China, the contradictions and frictions between China and Japan have increased and the Japanese factor in the Taiwan Question has gradually become more explicit. Among these are the tense relations between China and Japan and the realities of Taiwan's internal political situation. Other factors include the changes in geopolitical conditions in East Asia and the intensification of the strategic forces. With the historical, geopolitical and realpolitik factors intertwined, Japan's impact on the Taiwan Questionis thus uniquelycomplicated.
