It is much difficult to add an application icon into the Windows taskbar with Visual Basic (VB) than with Visual C. Using CIH virus warning program as an example, this essay illustrated how to add a VB application icon into the taskbar. The main function of the VB program presented here is to protect the user from the possible damage by CIH virus on the startup of the computer every 25th or 26th of each month by prompting the user to change the date.
