水是生命之源，人类诞生文明的地方都与水相关，与河流密不可分，济南也不例外。先民们逐水而居，依傍古四渎之一的济水，打井筑城，顽强扎根；依靠古城区丰沛的泉水，繁衍生息，孕育出悠久灿烂的文明，也造就了这座人口稠密的宜居泉城。

Jinan has been employed as the name of the city for thousands of years. This piece of land that has been cultivated and shaped by successive generations has an even longer history. Water is the source of life. It is closely bound up with the birthplace of civilizations and human progress and prosperity. Water has also sparked vigorous development for Jinan, where our ancestors lived by the River of Ji and had nurtured a splendid civilization.
