Keep Pace with the Times and Study for Practical Applications:The History and Characteristics of Landscape Architecture Discipline of South China University of Technology

一个大学的学科如何在各种错综复杂的社会,文化和政治环境下产生和发展,是一个值得探究的学术问题。同时,在学科建设之中的先辈的思想、经验和成就亦为后来者学习和缅怀,本文以时间为线索,通过对不同时期的学科建设、重要人物以及突出的学术成果的梳理,溯华南理工大学风景园林学科发展之源流,展现出华南理工大学风景园林学科传承与发展数十年至今呈现出的"通时合变,学必致用"的鲜明特色。

How a university discipline develops in various social, cultural and political environments is an academic issue worthy of exploration. At the same time, the ]ater generations would also learn and remember the thoughts, experiences, and achievements of predecessors in the discipline construction.
