要想认识数学本身,需要从它的历史入手,数学史的重要性日益受到数学界和数学师生的重视.杜瑞芝教授主编的《数学史词典新编》2017年在山东教育出版社出版,该书是在1991年《简明数学史辞典》和2000年《数学史辞典》的基础上扩编而成的,全书193万字,共14个门类、近一千六百个词条,附有大事年表、数学名言和3个索引,是学习数学和数学史的得力工具书.

To understand mathematics itself, we need to start with its history. The importance of mathematics history is increasingly valued by mathematicians, teachers and students. The New Dictionary of Mathematical History, edited in chief by Prof. Du Ruizhi, was published by the Shandong Education Press in 2017. This book was compiled on the basis of the ConciseDictionary of Mathematical History in 1991 and the Dictionary of Mathematical History in 2000. The book is composed of 1930 thousand words, 14 categories and nearly 1600 entries, with big events chronology, mathematical famous quotes and 3 indexes. It is a powerful tool for learning mathematics and the history of mathematics.
