The internationalization of cataloging rules has become a major trend of cataloging worldwide. Thispaper reviews the emergence and development of German cataloging rules in the internationalization process andhighlights the advantages and disadvantages of the German cataloging rules. In this connection,the author putsforward some thoughts on the revision of Chinese cataloging rules.
