Create Eulogy for Rite:The Usage of Eulogy in the Etiquette of Fengshan

封禅是中国古代的一种重要礼仪。因封禅而产生的众多文体中,颂体的使用最为广泛。封禅前,颂用于陈符瑞、颂圣德,劝诱皇帝封禅;封禅中,人们刻石作颂,颂扬皇帝功德;封禅后,又为登封、降禅、朝觐三坛立碑作颂,分别记述其礼仪过程。整个封禅前后,颂体全程参与,既是礼仪的内容之一,也是重要的表现手段和传播方式。

As an important eulogy in ancient China,Fengshan has brought about a great number of works both of picture and text,among which the eulogy is most widely used. Before the rite of Fengshan,people write the eulogy to present the auspicious signs and eulogize the holiness of Heaven. During the process of Fengshan,people write the eulogy to record the merits of the emperor,in the way of stone inscription on the mountain peak. After Fengshan,people write the eulogy and monumentalize for the three altars for Dengfeng,Jiangshan,and Chaojin,to describe the process of the three etiquettes. In the rite of Fengshan,the literary form of eulogy is used all the way,which is both a link and an important carrier of the rite.
