Promoting Research on Aging at a Newer and Higher Starting Point

中国特色社会主义进入新时代,老龄科研工作也必须紧跟这一时代步伐,重新审视,重新思考,重新谋划。全面把握新思想指引下的老龄科研工作,必须全面把握主要内容与基本方略的辩证统一,必须坚持指导思想与行动纲领的统一,必须端正"三个正确认识"。新时代社会主要矛盾的提出,要求我们必须以此为依据制定应对人口老龄化的正确方针和政策,必须对有效应对人口老龄化做出新思考。全力做好新时代的老龄科研工作,必须高度重视对习近平老龄工作重要论述的学习领会,必须高度重视对老龄理论的总结提炼,必须高度重视老龄科学学科体系建设,必须高度重视老龄工作对于社会主义现代化建设之影响的研究,必须高度重视新时代重大老龄问题研究,必须高度重视老年人生活状况统计调查,必须高度重视国家老龄科学智库建设,必须高度重视应对人口老龄化决策推演系统,必须高度重视人口老龄化背景下的人工智能研究,必须高度重视老龄科研支撑平台建设。

Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. We should, therefore, keep up with the times, review and re-plan our work on aging research under the guidance of new thinking. To this end, we need to have＂three proper understandings＂and achieve＂dialectical unity＂in two aspects： the main content and fundamental strategies; the guiding principle and action plans.The new principal contradiction facing Chinese society requires China to make policies to cope with population aging based on this new contradiction and propose new ideas on effectively responding to this issue. To do research on aging in the new era, we should attach great importance to and have a proper understanding of General Secretary XI Jinping＇s speeches on the work of aging; we should pay close attention to summarizing theories and constructing a discipline system in this sphere; we should focus more on research topics such as major aging-related issues in the new era and influences of the work of aging on the socialist modernization drive; we should put statistical surveys of older people＇s living conditions high on our agenda; we should place great emphasis on setting up the national think tank for aging research, creating a simulation system for aging-related decision making, and conducting research on artificial intelligence against the background of population aging;we should prioritize building a platform for scientific research on aging.
