摘要
强关系还是弱关系更有利?过往研究以社会资源命题为基础,或强调关系强度和其所链接的社会位置之间的相关性,或强调区别于经济交换的社会性互动,造成非强即弱的理论困境。着眼于社会资本的条件性来源与回报,关系强度专属于异质性资源,强关系专属的权力资源,对公立部门职业获得机会存在正影响;弱关系专属的信息资源,则对私立部门职业获得机会存在正影响。两种正影响皆随行动者人力资本水平的提高而提高。利用台湾地区1997年社会变迁数据,海克曼概率单位模型的分析结果支持"关系强度资源专属性的公私部门差异假设"。
Which one is more useful for status attainment, strong social tie or the week one? The previous theory of social capital, based on the proposition of the strength of social resource, either emphasizes the correlation between the strength of ties and their linked structural positions, or stresses social exchange different from economic one, so that there has been some theoretical dilemma in the proposition of the strength of ties. This thesis focuses the conditional causal process of the sources and returns of social capital. Taking into account the resource-specific strength of social ties, the positive effect on the probability of job attainment in public sectors by influence-specific strong ties increases as the levels of actor's human capital arise, the positive effect on the probability of job attainment in private sectors by information-specific week ties increases with the levels of actor's human capital. Using a representative sample data of social change in 1997 in China's Taiwan region, after controlling for the selection bias of using ties, the analyses based on Heckman-Probit Model provides supporting evidences for the above hypothesis.
