This paper analyzes the trade tensions between China and the US and proposes some countermeasures in consideration of the trade pattern between the two countries and China＇s national strategy. Regarding the impact of the trade tensions on the exchange rate, the paper points out that it would be better for the RMB exchange rate to maintain relatively stable against a basket of currencies. In the future, the main factors affecting the RMB exchange rate will be the changes in FX supply and demand caused by the changes in foreign trade and investment structure.
