Shared reading is a reading activity that adults and children read together, in which adults' reading speed is a potential factor to influence children's reading effect. The present research explored the influence of adults' reading speed on children's eye movement pattern in the shared picture book reading. The 30 children's eye movements Were recorded when they were reading the story book Under the condition of fast and slow adults' reading speed, and the story Comprehension test was conducted. Results showed that reading the story at slow speed for young children can increase their attention to the text and help them to get better understanding of the story. Therefore, in light of the results of present study, it is recommended that parents or teachers should slow down their reading speed appropriately for young children, and adjust their speed according to children's needs in the shared picture book reading.
