Professor WANG Dong-fang's Experience in Treating Laryngeal Cough with Self-made Xuanfei Tuomin Decoction(宣肺脱敏汤)

王东方教授治疗喉源性咳嗽重视"热、燥、火、痰"的病因病机,并将喉源性咳嗽辨证为风热犯肺证、燥热伤肺证、郁火灼肺证和痰热蕴肺证,自拟宣肺脱敏汤,在辨证论治的原则上随症加减,可有效改善患者咽痒、咳嗽等症状。

Professor WANG Dong-fang believed that the cause and pathogenesis of laryngeal cough is＂heat, dryness, fire and phlegm＂. He identified laryngeal cough as a pattern of wind-heat invading the lung,dryness-heat damaging the lung, depressed fire scorching the lung and phlegm-heat brewing the lung. He made Xuanfei Tuomin decoction for treating laryngeal cough and chose Chinese medicine in the principle of syndrome differentiation. Xuanfei Tuomin decoction can effectively improve symptoms such as itching pharynx and coughing.
