Review on Deng Xiaoping’s Decision to Resume College Entrance Examination

新中国成立后，我国开始实行大学统一招生考试制度。1966年，高校停止了招生工作。从1972年开始，在停止招生达六年之久后，大多数高校又开始招生。1977年10月正式恢复高考。恢复高等学校招生考试制度，是1977年邓小平重新走上党和国家领导岗位之后做出的一个具有深远历史意义的重大决策，改变了整整一代甚至几代中国青年的命运，开启了全面拔乱反正的大幕。回顾邓小平决策恢复高考的历程，对于今天逐步完善我国高校的招生录取体制仍有重要的启迪。

After the founding of new China,it began to implement the unified entrance exami nation system. In 1966,colleges and universities stopped recruiting. From the beginning of 1972,in the sixth year after the decision of stopping the enrollment,China reopened the universities,and in October 1977 officially resume college entrance examination. Resumption of college entrance examina tion system is a historic major decision made in 1977 after Deng Xiaoping come back to power. It has changed the fate of whole generation and opened the curtain to bring order out of chaos. Reviewing on Deng Xiaoping’s decision to resume college entrance provides an important enlightenment for the im provement of the enrollment system of universities in China.
