"缪曰藻是江阴东兴缪氏吴门派的著名人物,是家族当中以收集书画题跋等笔记文章著名的人。他所收集的笔记文章主要收录在《寓意录》、《敬米斋笔记》和《朴巢偶笔》三本著作。此外他还写有《雪村编年诗剩序》、《邢湄丘先生集序》、《用敷公墓志铭》、《跋汤右曾<怀清堂集>》等作品。他的笔记文章题材多样,内容丰富,写作艺术高超。在传统书画作品的收集、整理、鉴赏和考据方面,值得后人研究。

Miao Yuezao is a famous figure in Dongxing,Jiangyin for his collecting calligraphy, painting, postscriptand other notes articles. Most of his notes articlesare collected in three works, including＂the meaning record＂,＂Jing Mi Zhai note＂and＂Park neiyu pen＂. In addition, he wrote＂Xue Cun Chronicles＂,＂Mr. Xing Meiqiu＇s preface＂,＂applied cemetery＂,＂postscript right＂,＂Huai Qing Tang Ji＂and so on. His notes articles are diverse, rich incontent and excellent in writing. In terms of collection, arrangement, appreciation and textual research of traditionalcalligraphy and paintings, it is worth studying by later generations.
