The raw materials and the processing methods of four kinds of nonwoven geotextiles commonly used all over the world were introduced,and their performance was compared. According to the function of nonwoven geotextiles in engineering,the suitable application areas for nonwoven geotextiles were put forward. With some concrete engineering applications as example,the rational use of nonwoven geotextiles was analyzed,and the development prospect of nonwoven geotextiles was prospected.
