Objective To explore the correlation of blood lipid level and preterm delivery by analyzing the changes of 4 indexes of blood lipid in preterm pregnant women and full term pregnant women. Methods A case-control study was conducted in 119 cases of preterm delivery at 28- 36+6 gestational weeks from August 2014 to April 2017 in Northwest Women and Children Hospital. The control group included 84 pregnant women with normal full-term delivery. Maternal blood cholesterol (CHOL) , triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) level were compared between normal full-term group and preterm delivery group, and the difference between two groups was analyzed. Results The HDL of the preterm delivery group was significantly lower than the normal delivery group (t = 2.30, P 〈0.05). There were no significant differences in CHOL, TG and LDL between preterm delivery group and the full-term delivery group (t value was 0.23, 1.69 and 1.25, respectively, all P〈0.05). Conclusion Physiological lipid level during pregnancy increases, which can meet the physiological needs of pregnant women and fetus. Low HDL may be associated with preterm delivery.
