摘要
本文旨在探讨英语专业知识课如何有效培养思辨能力。英语界虽然有了很多宝贵的探索和思考,却并不完全适合专业知识课。笔者提出了重视学科知识体系、强调有效学习的整体式培养路径。它摈弃了机械套用思辨能力框架的做法,把教学内容置于核心位置,突出学科知识和体系,从整体上入手,以促进学习在较高认知层次上发生为关键抓手。这样化繁为简,有助于找到有效教学的关键抓手。笔者将以自己教学实践举例说明。
This article seeks to examine how to effectively teach critical thinking in content courses for English majors. Although current literature offers much valuable advice, the insight is not entirely appropriate for the teaching of content courses. This author proposes a holistic approach that emphasizes the system of discipline-specific knowledge and promotes effective learning. It refuses to rigidly apply critical thinking theories, viewing course content instead as more fundamental. It seeks to push learning to take place at the higher-level of critical thinking abilities. This easy to use approach cuts through the theoretical jungle, allowing content course teachers to quickly identify the effective course design. Examples will be drawn from the author's teaching experiences for the purpose of illustration.
