摘要
格特鲁特·斯坦因是美国戏剧史尤其是先锋戏剧史上非常重要的一位人物。她以其理论和创作为美国的先锋戏剧奠定了一个牢固的基础。可是长期以来由于种种原因,如其戏剧结构形式过于怪异、语言过于佶屈聱牙等,导致国内外学术界对她的戏剧思想和创作研究相对滞后。从斯坦因先锋戏剧思想的形成和主要内涵入手,可以发现,斯坦因的主要价值在于她开拓了美国先锋戏剧,提出在此之前在美国甚或整个欧洲都无人提及的一些重要命题和解决的方法,把固有的、程式化的传统戏剧思想和美学观念往前大大地推进了一步。
Gertrude Stein is a significant playwright in American history of drama,particularly in the history of American avant-garde drama. She lays the foundation for American avant-garde drama with her theatrical theory and practice. Yet due to various reasons,such as the grotesque structures and obscure language she employs in her plays,there are not many essays or works in terms of studies of her theatrical ideas and practice so far both at home and abroad. The author of the present essay intends to analyze the formation of Stein's theatrical ideas and demonstrations and therefore to set up a basis for further Stein's studies.
