摘要
分析《茶馆》跑堂李三的话语评价资源与意义,考察霍华英译本的翻译方法与质量。经分析,李三与掌柜夫妇的对话较为直接。与王淑芬的对话中,他先铭刻了他的负面情感,之后通过各种极差资源旗示他的负面情感,表达不满。他与掌柜的对话激发了负面情感,表现出愤怒与抗议。霍华译本保留了原文绝大多数评价意义,仅有三处评价力度减弱的情况,但瑕不掩瑜。研究表明,评价理论能有效指导中国传统话剧研究和翻译研究。
This paper analyzes the discourse appraisal resources and meanings waiter Li San in"Tea House",and investigates the translation methods and quality of the Howard's version. It proves that Li San is straightforward with the proprietor Wang Lifa and his wife. When talking with Mrs Wang,he begins with the inscription of his negative feeling,and then flags his negative feelings by various graduation resources,to convey his dissatisfaction. His talk with the Proprietor provokes his negative feelings and shows his anger and protest. Howard's translation preserves most appraisal meanings in the original version,with only three instances of the lower of the original intensification,but still proves a brilliant work.
