论一种融合的社会研究方法论视野

On an Integrated Methodology of Social Research

质性研究与定量研究方法之分野由来已久。从逻辑根源之本体论、认识论、方法论角度逐一分析可以发现,质性研究与定量研究二者并无绝对之对立与分隔。由于人与人类社会现象之复杂性,不同范式与方法具有自身合理性的同时都存在着局限,因此存在融合的必要。质性研究与定量研究在理论与逻辑上、方法上、解释上、实践上皆存在融合的可能性与可行性。研究应本着"学术截拳道"之精神,在研究问题导向下,从更为广阔的视野出发,走向不同方法乃至不同学科的综合与融通,才能较为全面深刻地揭示社会现象的本质,促进社会研究的发展。

the separation and opposition between qualitative research and quantitative research methods have a long history. By analyzing the logic origin of ontology, epistemology and methodology one by one, this paper holds that there is no absolute opposition and separation between qualitative research and quantitative research. Because of the complexity of human and human social phenomena, different paradigms and methods have their own rationalities and limitations, so there is a need for integration. At the same time, it demonstrates how to fuse the theory and logic, the method, the explanation and the practice in social research. In order to get a more comprehensive and profound insight and promote social research, under the guidance of research problems, from a broader perspective, a study should be guided by the spirit of "academic Jeet Kune Do" to focus on synthesis and integration of different methods in social research.
