Brief Introduction of Tang Xie's Literary Thought

汤谐自幼好学,对司马迁《史记》一书用功甚勤。他的《史记半解》一书在清代《史记》评点中有着重要的地位,文学和史学价值较高。而其在《史记半解·杂述》中关于古文文法之祖、意法关系、文章之道以及"欲得《史记》之妙,必先痛洗俗肠"的相关论述既是其文学思想的体现,也是其全部《史记》评注的纲领。明确这些,对研究《史记半解》有着重要的作用。

Tang Xie was very diligent in the study of Sima Qian＇ s book of The Records of the Grand Historian. His book, named The Commentaries of Half the Records of the Grand Historian, is of great importance in the Qing Dynasty, and has huge value to the intellec- tual history and Chinese literature. In part of his book, the description about the original grammar, writing style, ideology and the dis- cussion that get rid of tacky then you can understand ＂The Records of Grand History＂, which is a reflection of his literary thoughts, and is also a platform for his book.
