Bio-fiction about Virginia Woolf belongs to a kind of increasingly popular postmodern genre, bio-fiction about literary authors. This essay reviews a newly published bio-novel about Virginia Woolf- Virginia Woolf in Manhattan (2014) written by illustrious English novelist, Maggie Gee. This life-extended unnatural bio-novel parasites its fictional plots on Woolf' s bio- memes, which not only makes Woolf resurrect in the 21s' century New York, but also creates a distinct image complementary to that in biographies about her. Maggie Gee boldly fictionalizes her literary foremother and overcomes the "anxiety of influence", making a new generation of Woolf fans through reading this novel as their starting journey into Woolf' s world.
