丁肇中教授首先介绍了自己受教育的成长经历,体会到跟老师学到的东西是有限的。接着介绍了自己从事的两个著名的科学实验,指出对专家的结论绝对不要盲从。在受到邓小平主席接待中谈到与中国物理学家的合作,体会到邓小平是一位非常开明的人。接着又介绍了与中国及其他国家科学家合作的发现胶子、L3、AMS等重大实验项目,指出实验是自然科学的基础,科学研究只有第一,没有第二。最后对中国科学家的贡献及中国科学的发展充分肯定,并提出愿中国对人类作出更大的贡献的良好祝愿。

First of all,the author introduced his experience of growing up in education and realized that what he learned from his teacher is limited. Then the author introduced two famous scientific experiments he had engaged in and pointed out that the conclusions of experts must not be blindly followed. During his reception by Deng Xiaoping,the author talked about the cooperation with Chinese physicists and realized that Deng Xiaoping was a very enlightened person.Then the author introduced major experimental projects such as the discovery of gluons,L3,and AMS in cooperation with scientists from China and other countries. The author pointed out that experiments are the foundation of natural sciences,and scientific research is only the first,and there is no second. In the end,the author fully affirmed the contribution of Chinese scientists and the development of science in China,and proposed the good wishes for China to make greater contributions to mankind.
