中美新闻报道中隐喻输出异同之批评性解读

A Critical Interpretation of the Similarities and Discrepancies of Metaphor Outputs Between Chinese and American News Reports

基于概念隐喻理论,采用批评隐喻分析法,从认知、思维角度解读2016年美国大选时中美新闻报道中"疾病隐喻"和"战争隐喻"产出异同及其根源,旨在探究隐喻构建与认知、思维方式的相互作用及影响,揭示隐喻背后中美两国不同的政治态度及价值取向。研究表明:中西思维方式差异对中英两种报道中的隐喻生成具有较强的制约性和决定性,批评隐喻分析不仅可以引导读者对当今美式民主制度作出正确的理解和判断,同时有助于增强读者的文化意识和政治意识。

Based on the Conceptual Metaphor Theory,the similarities and discrepancies about＂disease metaphor＂and＂war metaphor＂between the Chinese and American versions of news reports on the 2016 United States presidential election are interpreted in this paper.The roots of metaphor outputs are analyzed by means of Critical Metaphor Analysis from the perspectives of cognition and thinking,aiming to explore the interaction and effect of cognition and thinking modes on metaphor construction,and reflect the differences of political attitudes and value orientations between America and China.The result of study shows that the differences between the Chinese and Westerners＇ modes of thinking have strong constraints and decisive effects on the metaphor outputs in both the English and Chinese versions of reports on the same event.The Critical Metaphor Analysis is not only able to lead readers to a correct understanding and judgment of today＇s American democracy,but also helps enhance the readers＇ cultural and political consciousness.
