This report, in a summary of the research results made by scholars of various countries in 2017, covers the following 11 parts： interpretations of classic texts on socialism in specific historical contexts; predicaments faced by capitalism and its self-adjustments; left-wing movement in the world; commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the October Revolution in the academic circles at home and abroad; new erpretations on the implications of socialism and new explorations in the practice; leftist radical thoughts in the world; political changes and challenges for political parties in the world; answers to some questions about the history of socialism; socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era; imprints of early dissemination of socialism in China; historical facts restored based on the declassified documents and archives.
