This paper probes into the motivation and strategies of American foundations＇ educational aid, and points out that the motivation of American foundations＇ educational aid is not only to carry out their missions, but also to pursuit their business interest and national interest of the U. S.. The foun-dations decide which projects to aid based on the geo-strategic significance and potential spill-over effect of the projects, and maximize the influence through networking among different scholars, different academic organizations, different universities and so forth.
