摘要
通过实证调查,对词汇量及相关因素对中国英语学习者阅读能力的影响进行研究。研究表明:词汇量是基础,在其他条件不变的情况下,词汇量越大,阅读能力越强;在词汇量一致的情况下,社会背景越广泛,阅读能力越强,越不容易受学术界的界限影响;在词汇量一致的情况下掌握的俚语越多,越能深刻了解英语国家出版文章的深层含义。
Based on the empirical investigation, the influence of vocabulary and related factors on the reading ability of Chinese learners of English is studied. The research shows that : Vocabulary is the basis. When other conditions remain unchanged, the reading ability will be stronger while learners obtain more vocabulary ; In the case of the same vocabulary, the more widely English learners' so- cial background is, the stronger the reading ability is, and less susceptible to be influenced by the boundaries of academia; In the case of the same vocabulary, English learners learn more slang, they will understand articles published by English speaking countries better.
