机器翻译在档案学科的应用研究——以ITrust北美团队最新学术成果为例

The Application of Machine Translation in Archival Science——A Case Based on ITrust America Advanced Academic Articles

档案学科正处在建设“世界一流”、提高国际影响力的发展新阶段，如何快速高效地促进国际前沿成果的吸收和我国科研新发现的传播成为值得关注的问题，而机器翻译就是运用现代技术促进中英文学术成果转化与交流的方法之一。本文针对档案学术文献的翻译问题，以ITrust中国团队对北美最新学术成果的吸收与转化为例，结合国内4种主流翻译软件，评估了目前机器翻译在档案领域的应用效果，探讨了机器翻译应用中存在的问题及可能的改善途径，最后对档案学科应如何利用先进信息技术促进自身发展进行了反思。

The archival science has been stepping into a new development phase aiming at increasing our international influence and establishing our ＂world-class discipline＂ status. How to facilitate the adoption of international academic results as well as the dissemination of domestic new research results in an effective and efficient way has thus become a matter of concern, and machine translation is one example of using modern technology to promote the transformation and exchange of academic achievements between China and those English-speaking countries. Taking ITrust China＇s translation practice of Northern American academic articles as an example, this paper evaluates the current quality of machine translation based on four popular MT softwares, and discusses the challenges of applying machine translation in the field of archives as well as possible ways to improve it. The paper concludes with a reflection on how archival science could take advantage of advanced information technology in its development.
