Professor Li Yueqing's experience on benign prostatic hyperplasia based on kidney deficiency and blood stasis

良性前列腺增生症是一种由于前列腺的良性增生而表现为下尿路功能障碍的老年男性常见病之一,临床主要表现为尿频、排尿困难或尿潴留,属于中医"精癃病"的范畴。李日庆教授认为年老肾虚为本病发病之本,瘀血内结为发病之标,本虚标实是本病的病机特点,强调该病的基本病机为肾虚血瘀,在临证上以补肾活血为治疗大法。

Benign prostatic hyperplasia（BPH） is one of the common diseases of elderly men with lower urinary tract dysfunction due to benign prostatic hyperplasia. The main clinical manifestations are frequent micturition, dysuria or urinary retention, which belongs to the ＂Jing Long disease ＂ category in TCM. Professor Li Yueqing believes that kidney deficiency in old aged is the primary cause of this disease, the internal blood stasis is the manifestation cause of disease, and this obvious difference between the primary cause and the manifestation cause is the characteristic of the disease. He emphasizes the basic pathogenesis of BPH is ＂kidney deficiency and blood stasis＂,and the treatment method should be invigorating kidney and activating blood circulation.
