在字形演变的过程中,新的字形已然出现,旧的字形却迟迟没有退出历史舞台,如魏晋南北朝时期,篆、隶、楷并见,异体纷呈。这其间既有汉字本身发展演变的内部原因,也有社会发展的外部影响。通过考察魏晋南北朝异体字构件的发展变化,不仅有助于碑刻文字的考证和释读,而且对于理清文字演变的脉络,研究汉字发展史也具有重要帮助。
