犹太性是菲利普·罗斯作品中所表现的重要主题之一。在细读文本基础上,本文通过对其小说《狂热者艾利》中主人公艾利"换装"这一隐喻性行为的解读与剖析,旨在阐释罗斯是如何解决美国犹太人与二战犹太幸存者之间的冲突和矛盾以及犹太民族如何在美国社会更好地生存和发展,从而揭示罗斯在作品中所倡导的"换位"思考、尊重犹太文化传统、回归犹太民族本性的犹太伦理思想。

Jewishness is one of the significant themes expressed in Philip Roth's works.Based on close reading and by interpreting the metaphorical behavior of Eli's"changing dress"in Eli,the Fanatic,this paper attempts to explore howPhilip Roth tackles the conflicts and contradictions between American Jews and those Jewish survivors in WWII and howJews can better live and develop in American society so as to reveal Roth' Jewish ethical thoughts advocated in the story-thinking in others' position,respecting the Jewish tradition and returning to the nature of Jewish ethnicity.
