In May 2018, the trading volume of the interbank RMB market increased and traded 83.8 trillion yuan, The average daily trading worth stood at 3.81 trillion yuan, up 10.1% month-on-month. The liquidity in the interbank money market tightened up with the money market interest rates rising markedly at the end of the month. The average daily trading volume of the cash bond market rebounded, with the short-to-medium end yields going up and the long end yields going down; the IRS trading volume increased and the IRS rates showed divergent movements.
