The reasons and influence of the overground hearth layer material used in No. 2 Sintering Machine of 360 m^2 in Liuzhou Steel were analyzed, and the classification technology of hearth layer material developed against the problems were introduced. The utilization coefficient can be increased by 9.39% and the return fine rate can be reduced by 17.29% after applying this technology.
