摘要
影视字幕翻译在推动中华文化走向世界进程中具有重要地位。东西方共同的生理体验和不同的文化背景决定了认知方式兼具共性和差异。基于认知隐喻理论,影视字幕翻译应以反映抽象事物的关键特征和本质属性的认知机制为导向,从结构隐喻、方位隐喻和本体隐喻几方面为观众提供充分的语境效果从而清楚通透明白字幕对白的含义。从认知隐喻理论角度解读《非诚勿扰》的字幕英译特点并归纳影响中外影视交流中字幕翻译成败的若干要素,为影视字幕翻译提供一定的借鉴与启示。
The translation of film and television subtitles plays an important role in promoting Chinese culture to the world. The common physiological experience and different cultural backgrounds of the Chinese and western countries determine the commonalities and differences of cognitive modes. According to the theory of cognitive metaphor,the translation of film and television subtitles should be guided by the cognitive mechanism which reflects the key features and essential attributes of abstract things,providing sufficient contextual effect to the audience from structural metaphor,orientational metaphor and ontological metaphor in order to understand the meaning of subtitles. This paper analyzes the translation characteristics of subtitles of Chinese dating show "If You Are the One" from the perspective of cognitive metaphor theory and summarizes the factors that promote success in Chinese and foreign film and television exchange process.
