宝丰古镇的历史就是一部盐的历史,宝丰井曾是明清时期云龙八大盐井之一,随着白族大姓对宝丰盐井的开发,明崇祯二年至民国十八年宝丰也成为云龙州的政治、经济、文化中心,更进一步推动了云龙政治、交通、教育、建筑、宗教等事业的快速发展。
