In recent years, "idol" becomes an important phenomenon in entertainment industry under the influence of Japanese culture. The c of "Idol" has two meanings: On one hand, "idols" are closer to than " stars", because they come from ordinary people. On the other oncept people hand, imperfect "idols" can achieve their dreams and become "stars" by deter- mined efforts, which is an inspiring story. However, "idol" is not the antonym of "star", but a product that make full use of the mechanism of the latter. And the alleged " effort" and " dream" of " idol" are merely somerhetoric invention not a symbol of a ety, and it also make better profits. The prosperity of "idol" is democratic society, but a typical case in the consumer soci- indicates the decline of the myth of individual struggle.
