摘要
本文采用实证认知诗学的研究范式,考察中国英语专业学生这一真实读者群在英语叙事阅读中的情感反应。研究以Miall(2008)的情感体验3层次模型、Stockwell(2009)的投资隐喻和Oatley(1994)的英语叙事阅读情感分类框架为理论基础,通过阅读实验和后续访谈收集语料,并采用质性分析的研究方法对语料进行3级编码,旨在发现英语专业学生在阅读英语叙事过程中产生的主要情感反应类型,并基于Stockwell(2009)提出的“阅读是投资”这一概念隐喻解释情感体验通过读者、语篇及社会文化环境3种因素的交互作用被唤起的方式。
Adopting the research paradigm of empirical cognitive poetics, this paper explores emotional responses of English majors in China while doing English narrative reading. Based on Miall's (2008) three-scale model of literary reading, Stockwell's (2009) metaphor of investment and Oatley's(1994) taxonomy of emotions in English narrative reading, this study collectes data via rea- ding experiments and follow-up interviews. Qualitative analysis is employed for a three-stage coding of the data. The study aims to find out the major types of emotional responses in the course of English majors' English narrative reading, and to probe into how emotional experiences are evoked through the interaction of readers, literary texts and social contexts in terms of the conceptual metaphor "READING IS INVESTMENT" discussed by Stockwell in 2009.
