时空相关在汉语谓语叠式中的体现

Space-time correlation manifested in Chinese predicative reduplicants

时间与空间在语言中存在相关性体现:时空隐喻体现时间的空间性表达;虚拟运动体现空间的时间性表达。本研究发现,此两种时空相关也体现于谓语叠式中:时间性叠式选择性地允准空间性表达;空间性叠式的使用体现空间的时间性表达;时空性叠式兼容时间性和空间性表达。虽然时间性叠式的空间性表达能通过隐喻性相关得以解释,但空间性或时空性叠式的时间性或空间性表达则须通过动态性相关进行解释。

Space-time correlation is manifested in language in two ways, i. e. , the spatial expression of time as in spatial-tem- poral metaphors, and the temporal expression of space as in fictive motion. This research shows that these two types of space- time correlation are also instantiated in Chinese predicative reduplication, i.e. , temporal reduplicants selectively license spa- tim expressions; the uses of spatial reduplicants instantiate temporal expressions of space; spatial-temporal reduplicants license either spatial or temporal expressions. Although metaphorical correlation can account for these spatial expressions of temporal reduplicants, the account for those temporal or spatial expressions of spatial or spatial-temporal reduplicants is attributed to a dynamic correlation between space and time.
