The Japanese war of aggression against China was closely linked with the cancellation of the1940 Tokyo Olympic Games. While launching its war of aggression against China, Japan was also bidding for the Olympic Games, with the support from itsWar Department and the the favorable international situation of the time. However, with the further expansion and long-term tendency of the Japanese war of aggression against China, the Olympic Games had lost its instrument value and was then relinquished by Japan. The fate of the 1940 Tokyo Olympic Games was an epitome of the modern East-Asian sports activities. Under the influence of the Japanese war of aggression against China, the original thriving East-Asian sports activities suffered a heavy loss. Studies on this period of history will provide a certain referential value for today’s East-Asian sports activities.
