Kukan is a documentary film produced by Americans, with the theme of showing the spirit of Chinese war of resistance against Japan. In 1942, it was given an Honorary Academy Award at the 14 th Academy Awards, and it was well received. As a newly-unveiled documentary film, Kukan is not only an important reference to carry out studies on press publicity and film production during the Chinese war of resistance against Japan, but also an exceptional material for the research of historiophoty, offering the historical reference to further advance today’s Sino-foreign cultural exchanges.
