Disciplinary Trajectory and Topical Landscape: Mapping Health Communication Research in China's Mainland from 1987 to 2016

本文以1987—2016年中国知网期刊数据库中健康传播相关论文为研究对象,结合科技文本挖掘、机器学习语义分析、人工编码内容分析等研究方法,对论文的时间分布、学科与主题变迁、研究热点等进行定量与定性分析。研究发现,健康传播支撑学科间互补碰撞有所增加,传播学者成为研究主力,但存在"内眷化"现象;健康传播研究议题本土化和应用导向明显,对理论建构与新技术的关注不足;不同学科展现出不同的研究方法取向,新闻传播学侧重于传播内容分析,公共卫生学侧重于公众调查;一些基础性的学术概念在不同学科间交叉使用,但是概念之间的边界和关系尚需澄清。

Based on articles from CNKI Core Journal Database, this study identifies publication trends, evolution of the discipline, and the landscape of research topics for health communication in China's Mainland from 1987 to 2016. Integrating text mining, semantic analysis, and manual coding, this study analyzed 516 relevant articles both quantitatively and qualitatively. The research shows that inter-disciplinary dialogue is mounting, and communication scholars have become the main force of the field; existing researchis more oriented toward domestic topics and public health practices, with insufficient attention to theory building and technology development; different disciplines demonstrate differing preferences for research methods; some interrelated research concepts are in urgent need of clarification.
