Original digital news is increasingly popular as the initial template in form of manuscript. Archiving and preserving the digital news during this period is of paramount importance for the academic research in future news field, but many technical, legal and logistical challenges stand in the way of these efforts. This is especially true for news applications, or custom-built websites that comprise some of the most sophisticated journalism stories today. This paper summarizes the various challenges facing the archiving and preserving of original digital news applications, and makes some suggestions for how to fulfill this important work.
