On the Space Construction and Subjective Identity Anxiety of Dubliners

文章以空间理论视域为引导,分析了乔伊斯在《都柏林人》中对主体所处的外部城市空间和社会文化空间的个性化书写和建构,以及这种独特的空间建构对处在该空间的都柏林人主体身份的影响,认为正是受都柏林这种混乱、黑暗、失衡的物质和文化空间的影响和挤压,才使得都柏林人呈现出焦虑、孤独、迷惘的主体体验,集体迷失在混乱的都柏林。

Guided by the view of space theory, the article analyzes the individualized writing and construction of Joyce＇s external urban space and social and cultural space in the＂Dubliners＂, as well as the influence of this unique spatial construction on the main identity of the ＂dubliners＂in the space. The author holds that it is the influence and extrusion of the material and cultural space of the chaotic and unbalance of Dublin that makes Dublin people show the subjective experience of anxiety, loneliness and perplexity,and the collective is lost in the chaotic Dublin.
