我们该怎样培育一流大学精神

How to Cultivate the Spirit of First-class Universities

在我国现代化进程中,建设世界一流大学,精神向度不可或缺。现代化带来了高度的物质文明,同时产生了人为物役、两极分化、腐败滋生等消极后果,导致高等教育领域大学精神的缺失与异化。培育一流大学精神,应明确"人是精神"是培育一流大学精神的逻辑前提,大学精神研究成果为培育一流大学精神提供了思想来源,建设一流大学向培育一流大学精神提出了现实需求。中国的世界一流大学精神是在现代化背景下形成的中国大学精神之典范,与我国高等教育内涵式发展息息相关,其要旨在于培育与发展人的一流价值。中国的世界一流大学精神培育主要面临教育环境重塑问题、研究领域拓展问题、均衡价值证成问题。这需要我们在捍卫学术自由理念,理性借鉴西方文明成果,弘扬优秀历史文化传统,以及在形成自主发展机制上着力以解决问题。

Spirit of first-class universities is integral part of building world-class universities in process of modernization of China. Modernization has brought us not only high level material civilization,but also negative outcome such as the human-slaved,polarization,corruption,which brings about the deficiency and dissimilation to the spirit of universities. ＂We are humans full of spirit＂is the logic basis for cultivating first-class universities. The studies on university spirit provide sources for ideas in building the first-class universities,and to build the first-class universities exerts urgent demands for cultivating the spirit of first-class universities. Cultivation and development of first-class university virtues is the essence of the spirit of first-class universities in China which is closely related to connotative development of higher education. At present,main challenges for cultivating the spirit of first-class universities are： reconstruction of education environments,broadening of research field,and the balance of value justification. So,we have to stress on freedom in academic thinking,rationality in learning from western civilization,enhancement of traditional culture,and independence on development mechanism.
