A real case of the transformer protection caused by zero-sequence over-voltage protection action in the operation of the power grid was introduced. Based on the fault recording information and the actual situation,the operation of the relay protection device was analyzed. The characteristics of this kind of fault were described from the angle of substation operation and maintenance,so as to avoid the occurrence of the same type of fault.
