太伯让国奔荆蛮 ,建立句吴 ,传布北方先进文化 ,为人所称颂。《史记》创立“世家”体例 ,《吴太伯世家》列为第一 ,使太伯事迹之记载更加完善、充实 ,使其形象更加完美、高大。其中寓含了司马迁对“义”、国家、文化等观念之认识。
