摘要
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China （CPC） in November 2012, the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, has put forward new ideas, thoughts and strategies to benefit millions of Chinese women and children that reflect the care and concern of the CPC Central Committee. The Chinese government has established pragmatic and effective policies and measures for their advancement and well-being, creating a favorable social environment for women＇s all-round development and children＇s healthy growth. Chinese women, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, have played their unique roles in social sectors and domestic life, and demonstrating that they are equal to men in the task of building China into a moderately prosperous society in all respects. Beginning with June edition, Women of China English Monthly will publish a series of reports that document the achievements and progress China has made in promoting women and children＇s development in past five years, to celebrate the 12th National Women＇s Congress of China, which will be held this autumn.
党的十八大以来，以习近平同志为核心的党中央立足党和国家发展全局，就妇女儿童工作提出一系列新理念思想新战略，体现了党中央对亿万妇女儿童的关怀和爱护。中国政府从全局谋划妇女儿童事业发展工作，制订了切实有效的政策、措施和方法，营造了妇女全面发展、儿童优先发展的良好社会环境。在党中央的坚持领导下，广大妇女立足岗位、建功立业、锐意进取、奋发有为，在全面建成小康社会进程中展现了巾帼不让须眉的时代风采。为迎接中国妇女第十二次全国代表大会的胜利召开，本刊将刊登系列报道，反映五年来中国妇女儿童事业实现的跨越式发展。
